Description: This is tart pan I used: amazon.com/shop/chefaj/list/1GNPDCAG4A86S This delicious and guilt-free dessert is easy to make and will wow your company. No one needs to know how healthy it is and that it’s free of refined sugar and flour and sweetened only with fruit, the whole fruit and nothing but the whole fruit. All of the ingredients are readily available at your favorite Trader Joe’s store. Ingredients: Crust 2 cups of Trader Joe’s gluten-free oats 12 ounces of Trader Joe’s organic pitted Medjool dates Preparation: Crust In a food processor fitted with the “S“ blade process the oats into a flour like consistency. Add the pitted dates and continue processing until the food processor starts to slow down and a ball begins to form and the ingredients are fully combined so that you can press them into the tart pan. Empty the food processor into an 8 inch tart pan with a removable bottom and press the dough evenly on the bottom and up the sides. You do not need to bake the crust which makes it perfect for hot summer days but if you prefer it a bit firmer then bake it for five minutes in a 325°F oven and remove immediately to fill. Ingredients: Filling 4 cups of sliced strawberries, stem removed 4 tablespoons Trader Joe’s Balsamic Glaze or California Balsamic Chocolate or Fig Vinegar 1/8 cup Fresh mint, thinly sliced, optional 1/8 cup cacao nibs, optional Preparation: Filling Sliced strawberries and place in a bowl and add 4 tablespoons of the balsamic glaze. Maxwell and Allow to marinate for 2 to 4 hours before filling the crust. Just before filling the crust, add the fresh mint, if desired. If you don’t care for mint leave it out or substitute 2 tablespoons of raw cacao nibs. Assembly Drain the marinated strawberries and stir in the fresh mint if using. Evenly fill the pie with the marinated strawberries and add a large strawberry and/or fresh mint leaves or both, in the center for decoration if desired. Refrigerate the pie.
